THE COLORS OF SÄVEÅN INSPIRE ALLUM’S NEW ARTWORK
We are delighted with Allum’s new artworks - both the mural and the hanging installation.
As part of Allum’s interior refurbishment, two new artworks have been created: a mural, which we’ve already talked about, and a hanging installation in the northern atrium. In this space, visitors can experience how light moves across thin aluminum sheets that have been cut and rolled into their shape. The shifting reflections create a changing impression of the room, just as we hope visitors will experience Allum itself: a place where there is always something new to discover.
The artist behind the piece, Jennie Stolpe, previously lived in Kortedala. * “My sister and I often went to the newly opened Allum. For me, Partille is associated with the Säveån river, where I have both swum and jogged along many times. The work is inspired by Partille’s industrial history and the story of Levanten’s dye works, whose operations made Säveån shift to red, blue, or other strong shades. I have drawn inspiration from that history and let the hanging, drop-like shapes in reflective metal be influenced and colored by the surrounding light and colors.”*
We are delighted with Allum’s new artworks and want to extend our warm thanks to the artists Jennie Stolpe and Maria Bernhardsson, as well as RStudio, which coordinated the process.
