SKECHERS EXPANDS AT EMPORIA

Skechers has completed a major upgrade of its concept store at Emporia. The store, which has been at Emporia since 2019, has now expanded by 75 percent and covers a total of 280 sqm. The increased retail space not only enables a broader selection but also allows for more inspiring displays.

“With the new store space, we’ve been able to create a stronger shopping experience, and we’ve launched Skechers Apparel – sporty activewear and casual clothing including tights, t-shirts, hoodies and accessories – to complement our footwear assortment,“ says Thomas Dalby-Andersen, Nordic Retail Operations Manager at Skechers.

The expansion at Emporia is part of Skechers’ long-term growth strategy for the Swedish and Nordic markets.Thomas Dalby-Andersen:

“Our experience at Emporia has been very positive so far. It’s a popular shopping destination with high footfall and an attractive retail mix. With our upgraded store, we have high expectations – the new store concept and broader offering will contribute to an even better shopping experience and hopefully increased customer traffic.“.

Store Manager Marlene Mårtensson is thrilled with the customer response:

“It’s so much fun to hear that the store now feels both brighter and more spacious.”

Skechers appeals to a wide customer base – just like Emporia – and remains a popular destination among the center’s 7.7 million annual visitors. Martin Lundquist, Center Manager at Emporia:

“The fact that Skechers is following the trend we’re seeing at Emporia – investing in a new store concept and larger space – is very positive. Together, we’re contributing to an even stronger overall shopping experience”.

Emporia had its best year ever in 2024 in terms of both footfall and turnover, which continues to drive strong interest from retailers looking to establish themselves in southern Sweden’s leading shopping center. This spring, seven new store concepts have launched – four of them completely new openings.
