LAGER 157 OPENS AT METRO – LINDEX RELOCATES TO A LARGER STORE

Metro Senter is gearing up for an exciting 2025 with the arrival of new retail concepts. Lager 157 has chosen Metro for its second store in the Oslo area, opening in Q2 2025 and Lindex is relocating within Metro to new location on the same floor, set to open in March.

“We are thrilled that Lager 157 is launching its first store in Romerike at Metro. This marks the first location between Oslo and Trondheim, and we expect it to be a great success. Lager 157’s concept and audience are a perfect match for Metro. At the same time, Lindex — one of our long-standing tenants — is moving to a new location. The new store emphasises on the brand’s Scandinavian heritage anf the relocation is also very exciting” says Christopher Castberg, Center Manager at Metro.

Lager 157 is expanding rapidly in Norway, and CEO Stefan Palm is excited about the new Metro location: “We’re experiencing strong growth in the Norwegian market, which also applies to Oslo, where we’ve been looking for new retail premises. Metro Senter will be a strong addition, and we are very pleased that the 2,000 sq.m. area was made available to us. Here we will offer our entire concept for women, men and children”.

Lindex’s relocation brings an updated store experience with a layout that highlights the brand’s Scandinavian heritage. “We have been part of Metro for nearly 27 years and look forward to continuing our journey in a new space,“ says Hanne Wergeland, PR Project Executive at Lindex.

Lindex’s new store will open on Thursday, March 20.

Metro strengthens its market position

With major new clients like Rusta and Stadium Outlet, Metro continues to elevate the retail mix. The goal is to bring in even more strong and unique concepts to further differentiate the center.

“We focus on offering a dynamic mix of well-known chains and innovative new brands, making Metro a top choice for everyday shopping. More exciting concepts are on the way, further strengthening Metro as a leading regional shopping destination,” says Castberg.

Metro offers outstanding accessibility with 1,250 parking spaces, up to three hours of free parking, and easy access from RV159/Solheimsvegen. Its central location near Lørenskog’s bus terminal, Lørenskog Hus, and the area’s largest schools makes it a top retail hub, drawing around five million visitors annually.
