ALLUM – GOTHENBURG’S 1ST SHOPPING CENTER TO LAUNCH FREE FEMININE HYGIENE PRODUCTS FOR VISITORS

Allum is proceeding with the program to improve the customer experience. The world's first digital nose for more efficient cleaning is now accompanied by a pilot project consisting of a dispenser containing free sanitary towels.

For us, it is important that customers feel safe and comfortable no matter what day of the month it is. The launch of free menstrual protection can contribute to an increased sense of comfort and security among our female visitors during menstruation. As a shopping center, it is also important for us to create an inclusive and equal environment where the needs of both men and women are taken seriously. Free menstrual protection in the toilet is a natural thing, just like free toilet paper, says Albert Aguilar, Shopping Centre Manager at Allum.

In parallel with creating added value for Allum’s female visitors, the shopping center also wants to promote local entrepreneurship.

We think it’s important to support innovation and local entrepreneurs like Herbox in Gothenburg. It feels good that one percent of their profit goes to the women’s rights organisation “Kvinna till Kvinna”, which works with a number of organizations in war- and conflict-affected areas to strengthen women’s influence and power.

The menstrual protection consists of tampons and panty liners and is available in a wall-mounted dispenser and is replenished daily. The project will be evaluated on an ongoing basis, just like the digital nose projecthttps://www.steenstrom.com/news/world-premiere-of-digital-nose-at-allum-shopping-center
