Marieberg Galleria hosted a series of Clothing Swap Events as part of Steen & Ström’s ongoing sustainability strategy Act4Good – combining conscious consumption with meaningful local community engagement.

Visitors were invited to bring in pre-loved clothing and accessories and exchange them for new favorites in a setting designed to replicate a retail store experience. For each item submitted, participants received a swap voucher, making the concept both simple and rewarding.

The initiative delivered strong results: a total of 1,232 items were collected, of which 1,071 found new owners. The events exceeded expectations, with high visitor turnout and engagement. Staff reported long queues forming ahead of opening, and at times even a shortage of hangers – clear indicators of the strong local interest in second-hand fashion.

The Clothing Swap Events also marked the start of a new partnership with Örebro Stadsmission as part of Steen & Strøm’s Giving Back initiative. In addition to collecting summer clothing donations, Marieberg Galleria contributed SEK 10 for each swapped item, resulting in a total donation of SEK 10,710.

The donated clothing and hygiene products supported Örebro Stadsmission’s summer event for people in need, providing both essential items and an opportunity for community, food, and connection.
