Last year's success was repeated when the event Vålerenga TakeOver took place in Oslo City. Vålerenga TakeOver invited children and youth to meet their heroes - football players from both the men's and women's teams, a stage show was arranged, competitions, and a quiz with great prizes. The host was the well-known influencer Arman, who is crazy about both Vålerenga and Oslo City. Tippen, Vålerenga's mascot, also showed up at the event.

Many of Oslo City’s visitors, Vålerenga’s supporters with children and youth turned the city of Oslo royal blue.

“This collaboration enabled us to give back to the community and support the football club, which is an important player in Oslo to activate children and young people. We know that there is a great need for support to keep children and young people active,” says Elisabeth Lohk, Center Manager Oslo City.

To support Oslo City’s neighborhood and ensure that children and youth have a meaningful and active leisure time is close to the hearts of both of Oslo City and Steen & Strøm. This year, Oslo City will also collect worn football boots to be donated to children and young people in Vålerenga and in the local community, in the old city of Oslo.

Svein Graff, General Manager of Vålerenga Fotball Elite, says that Vålerenga want to engage Oslo’s population and be visible in the cityscape. “The collaboration with Oslo City gives Vålerenga an excellent opportunity to reach children and youth and create opportunities for participation in our activities.”
