We are proud of Bruuns Galleri’s collaboration with the Red Cross in Aarhus. Throughout 2024, Bruuns Galleri has provided a retail space for Røde Kors Aarhus, where they have operated a highly popular second-hand shop. The profits from the store have contributed to supporting over 47,000 residents in Aarhus Municipality last year. Among them, around 2,000 Aarhus citizens participated regularly in one of Red Cross’s many activities.

To put it into perspective, the partnership between the Red Cross and Bruuns Galleri has supported the Red Cross’s social work and, among other things, helped fund their four Aarhus-based family networks for eight years or run their weekend café for 30 years. The profits from the store can also secure Christmas aid for 845 economically vulnerable families. These examples do not include the department’s additional expenses.

In addition to its social impact on the local community, the sale of second-hand clothing at the Bruuns Galleri store has also saved the environment from over 34 tons of CO2 emissions. This is equivalent to driving around the world seven times in a passenger car or flying round trip to New York 17 times.

This achievement reflects our commitment support local organizations in their vital work for the local community and strong local partnerships.
