OSLO CITY UNDERGOES FACADE AND ENTRANCE UPGRADE

We are excited to share that Oslo City, one of Oslo’s most visited shopping destinations, is embarking on a major transformation with the start of an upgrade to its facade and main entrance.

The project aims to create a modern, energy-efficient, and welcoming look, reinforcing Oslo City’s role as the city’s central hub for retail and business in the heart of Oslo.

The work on the shopping center’s facade began in July 2025 and is expected to be completed by summer 2026. In parallel, a newly approved main entrance will provide a more open and clearly defined access to the center from street level, improving the overall visitor experience.

“We are excited to start the facade renewal. Located in the heart of Oslo, this upgrade reflects the ongoing development of the area and will make the center even more attractive – both for visitors and tenants,” says Elisabeth Lohk, Center Manager at Oslo City. “Our goal is to deliver a modern, functional facade that reduces energy consumption while enhancing the center’s presence in the cityscape.”

Sustainability and energy efficiency are central to the renovation. The new facade will help lower energy use and operating costs and will enable the building to achieve Energy Class B in a future full-scale refurbishment.

Construction has been planned to allow the shopping center to operate normally throughout the project, minimizing disruption for both visitors and tenants.

“The upgrade comes at a time of significant urban development in the surrounding area. Together, these improvements will strengthen the appeal and dynamism not only of this part of the city but of Oslo’s entire city center”, adds Elisabeth Lohk.
