CREATING SAFER RETAIL ENVIRONMENTS STARTS WITH KNOWLEDGEABLE AND PREPARED TEAMS

Across our shopping centers in Scandinavia, we are currently conducting our annual training and information updates for retailers and store employees.

This year’s program focuses on conflict management, emergency preparedness, evacuation procedures, crisis response, and how retailers can effectively communicate critical safety information to their teams. For us, safety is not just about having procedures in place. It is about building awareness, confidence and resilience, ensuring that employees and visitors alike feel safe and secure in our destinations.

Together with safety expert Erik Engstrand from Safe Asset Group, we recently completed training sessions at Emporia, followed by visits to retailers demonstrating strong commitment to safety and preparedness. One example is Designtorget, where clear and accessible staff communication is embedded into daily operations. “Designtorget is an excellent example of how retailers can work proactively with staff communication. Safety information is visible, accessible and integrated into employees’ daily routines every time they enter the staff area,” says Erik Engstrand.
