CELEBRATING THE POWER OF DANCE AND ARTISTIC EXPRESSION IN EMPORIA

At Steen & Ström, we aim to create an extraordinary experience for every visitor to our shopping centers. We are proud to share that Emporia's rooftop park was the venue for the premiere performance of Skånes Dansteater's "Going Steady" - a playful showcase of human and animal relationships and courtship rituals.

We believe in integrating cultural elements into our shopping centers, aiming to enhance the lives of our customers and make their time with us more than just a shopping experience. We strive to foster an environment where individuals can explore, learn, and engage with various forms of artistic expression.

Five dancers embarked on a captivating journey from an exciting beginning to a touching end, and everything in between. The dancers were accompanied by ethio-jazz, a fusion of traditional Ethiopian music with jazz, afro-funk, Latino, and soul rhythms, they mesmerized the audience with their movements.

We want to congratulate the choreographer and dancer Liam Francis, who won Skånes Dansteater’s Production Award during the Rotterdam International Duet Choreography Competition (RIDCC) in spring 2022. This year, Liam’s talent came to life with the dance performance of “Going Steady”.

The team: Liam Francis, choreography, choreographic assistant Judy Luo, Åsa Gjerstad coordinating the costumes, and the dancers Kit Brown, Tomás Cervinka, Dario Minoia, Kat Nakui, and Iris Telting.

At Steen & Ström we look forward to continuing to provide our visitors not only with exceptional shopping, but also exceptional cultural experiences. Stay tuned for more info.
