ALLUM – CO-ORGANIZER OF THE ALLUM HILL RACE THAT ATTRACTS MANY OF THE WORLD'S ELITE CROSS-COUNTRY SKIERS

Supporting local initiatives and local organizations is part of Steen & Ström’s DNA and something our shopping centers are doing on a regular basis. Now Allum welcomes, together with Sävedalens AIK, the world elite as well as beginners to climb the "Allumbacken" between Allum and Kåsjön twice on roller skis in the Allum Hill Race.

Together with Sävedalens AIK, our shopping center Allum now welcomes world-class skiers as well as beginners to climb the so-called “Allumbacken” between Allum and Kåsjön twice on roller skis in the Allum Hill Race. The notable line-up includes this winter’s Vasaloppet winners Emil Persson and Emelie Fleten together with their respective team mates, Team Lager 157 and Team Ramudden and the third place finisher in last season’s cross-country cup Max Novak.

For us, it is important to contribute to both a positive development of public health and a vibrant city centre, says Albert Aguilar, Shopping Center Manager at Allum, where the number tag distribution takes place just like one of the starting points east of the shopping center.

The race is targeted at both the elite and the beginners as well as the amateur skiers. In total, the race has 170 participants. The elite class and young people and juniors from 15 years and upwards run three kilometres.

My ambition is that this year’s Allum Hill Race will be the beginning of a long co-operation with Sävedalens AIK. It is important for us that the race is aimed at a broad target group, just like Allum, says Albert Aguilar.

Since its opening in 2006, Allum has had an ongoing collaboration with the local handball club Säfehof, which staffs the shopping center’s information desk.
